I can't read my PNG file, what's wrong?

Home / Support / Frequently Asked Questions / I can't read my PNG file, what's wrong?

PNG image files found on and transferred to iPhones are automatically converted to a non-standard, iPhone-specific format. For some reason there is an additional header and the red and blue pixels are reversed (BGRA instead of RGBA). Find details about this here.

While EDGELIB cannot read these non-standard PNG files, you can avoid this behavior by renaming the extension of the PNG image file (.png) or by putting the PNG file in an EDGELIB .epk resource file using the EDGELIB Packer tool.
